Film Review - The Men's Club

Okay, I am so late to the party. How and Why have i been in the dark for so long? How on earth did nobody tell me about this content on Nollywood screen and I've been living under a rock since?

So a few days ago, The Men's Club popped up on my recommended on YouTube and the thumbnail was catchy and I decided to give it a try and boy, I am now addicted oo. Yo, This is the content we signed up for on Nollywood Screen!

I love, just love how the story isn't centred on one guy. Many a times, when films about group of friends are made, there's always a character that is the main focus and overshadows others, subtly or nah. Big whoops and accolades to Dami Elebe for giving us a balanced dose of the quartet.

The endearing thing about this series is that it's clear that both the cast and the crew were invested in making it bang. The storyline and dialogue (my cheeks are either stretched in a wide grin or I'm guffawing alongside the boys with the gba gboos dialogues) locations, lights, camera angles, directing, acting, the soundtrack. My goodness, the soundtrack. Every single person in this project worked and is working really hard!

Of course, there are shortcomings like the speech and sound lag in certain episodes and the replacement of some characters in new seasons but it's  totally understandable. Even the new cast try to immerse themselves in their new role.

The actors are the highlight of the film and I am hyping them with vigour!!
Aminu - the man every lady wants for herself and a friend everyone needs. I keep going back to watch his scenes exclusively. He's even made me wish I could speak Hausa.
Lanre - and his berries. I love the exploration of older women in love. My favourite is Mrs. Dorego of course. Shaffy Bello kills her role with class and elegance. I love to see it.
Louis - the jester and Sarcasm Lord with his Pharrell hat. Someone should make him a hat brand ambassador already! I do think he makes jokes a lot to deflect his own circumstances.
Tayo - I comot plenty cap for him, our one and only story teller. He's had the best character development in the series, I'm a huge fan.

I so much adore the rapport amongst the 4. My facial expression throughout their scenes is either beaming at their bants or flat out laughing at the swipes they take at themselves, their easy going concord completely rid of treachery and envy is everything.

Of course, the ladies that bring life and spice to the screen. Tumini, I'm missing my girl who is dating Aminu on my behalf.
My personal person - Tiara, Body of God. She brings life and energy to the screen, literally. Her enthusiasm is in all of her scenes, I see myself bubbling along with her.
Jasmine - the sheer fact that I want to enter the screen myself and push her outta the series is enough proof that she's killing her role.
And the several other actors. Y'all killed it tbvh.

I am hooked, periodttt. I am re-watching the older episodes whilst waiting for the next update. My review is 10 stars over 5 stars. Yup, that's how much I love it.

Thank you@themensclub and @redtv for this content. We love to see it.
