Notions (Today)

Today was something else. Tiring but well spent. (8/8/2019)
My first class by 7, and we ran to Political science Dept as it was raining. I didn't really stay through the lectures, it was occupied. I took some shots cos I felt I was dressing cool and all.

From there, I went back to the department and my friends and I decided to go to the market to measure the clothes my friends and I would wear for our departmental night.

On reaching to the market, to the shop where we could buy materials. Ifechukwu and I bargained for the price. I surprised myself the more with how vocal I was about selection of the material to wear and the bargaining.

From there, we got to the place where we measured the clothes, we received biscuits from the people on the line as one was celebrating birthday. It was there I learnt my cloth size as I hadn't measured in a while.

We were en route coming back and Ifechukwu saw a place where "bell" was open. She saw an opportunity to buy cloth she will wear for our departmental night. That was what sort of delayed us. She was bargaining and Amarachi saw a blazer to buy, a white one. A cloth that Amanda would have worn was not really her size.

I was almost tired and wanting to get back to school but I was like, "do what you never do". We were going to board bike and Ifechukwu with her sharp eyes sighted another bell but this one was shoes. We were able to choose 2 Making sense boots for just 500 naira each. The man selling was even looking like one who smoked like hell before coming out to sell those goods. E no even concern me. My business was just that we bought the shoes even though I nearly dragged Ifechukwu back because she was looking around for things to buy. The next thing, was downpour

My friends went to withdraw. We were supposed to take Keke napep car back. We were told that "drop" is 600 naira for the four of us. We halted two okadas, and almost reaching to our destination, we saw that the roads were blocked with construction machines that are filling an open dip

I must confess that I was scared of how the machineries were working on the road. I was freaking scared of the stuff. It was eeringly strange to be that close to a construction site. I'd have launched into how Nigeria system was not capable enough. Truthfully, they put the caution tape to prevent movement. But we didn't have any pathway. So we were forced to juggle around and meander our way outta the place.

Then, we finally got to Ifechukwu's house. Before then, she gisted me about the Madam Fresh that is highly disciplined in selling of her beans and plantain, with her high quality of same food. We bought corn from the woman whose products is very sweet.

Ok getting to Ifechukwu's house, I drank 'pito pito', biscuit and milk, while my other friends socked garri. We read for the test we are to have the next day. I rested and then waited to receive my note back from a friend cos we ditched our class.

On my way to my hostel, I encountered this downfall and I had to trek under the rain. Phew
