On cancer and storytelling

 


This girl's ad (both on Facebook and YouTube) has got to be the best copywriting I've ever seen in a while. 

The lead statement on the YouTube goes thus - "I don't want to die" That's one of the most powerful sentences. The emotions work even more, cos it's coming from a child. 

Anyone could easily imagine their child saying that. Or their sibling.

Also look at the first sentence of this ad - *"It doesn't just tell you - 'I am in pain.' It describes her being in pain.* Brilliant. 

God forgive me. I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness of her sickness, but the copywriter did a brilliant job conveying this in a way that tugs even on my (hardened marketer) chest. 💔💔💔
