Notions (Change)
Who said change isn't possible, people change every single time which makes it inconspicuous to notice.
I have a story to share, this kinda change enter wella.
When I was in my first year at Eyo-Ita Hostel, there was this woman who sells Okpa that always comes every morning. To say she is dirty is an understatement. I had only eaten her Okpa once and it was whack. The Okpa was so bad that I'd go to Mary Slessor to buy Okpa than patronise her, so bad that my sister told me that in her second year she actually saw cockroach in one of her okpas that she bought. Infact, my sister had an allergy to seeing her and as such I only tasted her Okpa once. Like I said, it was whack, the Okpa doesn't cook very well. A part can be very watery and the other strong as a rock. Yeah, it was that bad.
Not just that, she herself was untidy AF. Her wrapper was legit begging for change, she'd use her hand and blow her child's nose and cut someone's Okpa with it. She wouldn't wear slippers.
I don't even want to talk about the cooler she brings the Okpa with. She disgusted me that much, and I'd always wonder why people even bother to buy that.
Infact, once when I went to Slessor to buy Okpa, I saw one of our Porters there buying hers too. She was also complaining about the women. My sister also told me that they had complained about the woman too to the Hall Supervisor. The thing gwụrụ ike.
So, last semester I had the misfortune of seeing her at Isa-Kaita. She had come to sell Okpa here, mayhaps Eyo-Ita people weren't buying at all. I had beckoned on the person advertising Okpa oo, until I saw she was the one. I told her that I wasn't buying. She asked why, "I said I don't like her Okpa", That I'm not buying that from her. I left
Fast forward to a couple of weeks or months later, I can't remember. I heard a very cheerful "Okpa dị ọkụ", I went out to my, to my greatest surprise she was the one. I couldn't believe it, I never experrect it. I swear, she had totally changed. She barbed her hair, her clothes were neat and most of all, her cooler was very neat. I bought ooo, as it was a Sunday and Okpa people don't come out much on Sundays. The Okpa was very much done, and soft. Eeeh, I wanted to ask her what happened.
That's it ooo, she had transformed a lot and people are now buying from her. I just finished eating the one I bought today, I still can't believe how much she has changed. My sister still has an aversion to eating her Okpa because of her experience with the one she ate in her Second year. As for me, Ayam now enjoying it ooo. My thoughts from the first day I saw her transformation till now remains, "Wow"......
