On Premise of Welcome to Samdalri

 


Welcome to Samdalri borrows elements from Hometown Cha Cha Cha, The Good Bad Mother, Lovestruck in the city, Our Beloved Summer, Forecasting Love and weather into a brilliant premise and it seems fun. Both leads have really strong screen presence. 

Someone said if Ji Chang Wook had been in Forecasting Love and Weather, she'd have managed to get past 2 episodes and I concur absolutely. I haven't gotten to half of episode 1 and I have managed to watch it 3 or 4 times. More so, since it's the same director of FLAW and this Welcome to Samdalri.

Which supports my theory, the Forecasting Love and Weather was boring because of the leads do not have chemistry. Especially that male lead, Song Kang. He was the lead in Nevertheless and I could not watch that as well. And guess what, he is the same male lead in this my demon and after 2 episodes, I don tire for him. I had said that he looks more like a kpop artist than an actor and I didn't expect much going into that My Demon. And I was right.  

How do I explain this? His acting comes off as he wants us to see that he is very fine than the character he is supposed to embody. With a stupid smirk I just want to erase from my screen. Which is stark difference to why we love kdrama actors. How they embody their roles is what makes you love them, not necessarily cos of their looks. That's why you see people rave about Gong Yoo, and he is not conventionally fine. Oh well

Notions (Wi-Fi)

We don't know what we have until we lose it. I had written something down on this particular issue, and that had been a depressing stuff. However, the one I'm emphasising on today is actually more stupid than sad, although I'm very sad about it. From my first year, I had prided myself in it having subscribed a monthly data plan by myself while school is in session. It's not difficult to guess the reason for my boasting, WI-FI, my very own "Lionet WiFi". Then, YouTube and Instagram was my second home. Took so long

 It took me a while to come to this realisation I can criticise orthodox Christianity while enjoying gospel music. I can decide not to be religious, but groove to music You know why? Because music is transcendental. Same way you enjoy secular music as a Christian.
