On if I can choose to be a "stay-at-home" spouse

So, I'm watching Sky castle, a kdrama and this character in the movie cut his wife's credit cards and said he'd stop wiring money for living expenses to her. 

This is someone that's a stay-at-home mom, and basically runs and maintains the household

Why did he cut off the cards? Cos the woman revamped the prison-like room he called study room for their children. Not for her personal gain, but for their kids

And gave her 3 days ultimatum to revert things back as it were. As per head of the household. How dare she change things without his permission?

First off... I am willing to die on the hill that "being a stay-at-home wife and mom" is a full-time job that requires full compensation as with every other job.

Afterall, the cleaners in the offices, and chefs get paid. However, a woman is expected to do that for free.

It's quite unfortunate that there aren't laws that officially recognise STH women's role yet.

Maka ya kam ji sị... Even if said man has wealth of Jeff Bezos, if the ultimatum is that I'd be a full time stay-at-home wife, I no dey do. Chukwu ekwekwana

I was reading a post on FB where the girl said her husband chastised her cos she used part of the money for electric bill and got sanitary pad when her period started on a whim. 

Oga was so angry that he dared tell her she should have used tissue instead of spending that money. He berated her for not knowing her exact cycle. She stated he gives her 700 naira a week or something.

Ịnụkwa having money in hand being dependent on whether dude is happy with me that day or not.

Or said person withholding money from me when there is misunderstanding? 

Now, most would posit that you should marry a kind man. Or that you should marry wealthy person for the influx of money.

However, we were all there when a rich "oil and gas" business man sent his wife packing just like that.

If I'm being honest, my main goals of having money are:

1. In case of emergencies 

2. For Fuck you situations

So whether my brain is painting me from software engineering... Or even if I have to go back and learn mathematics and statistics... I rather stick to this quest of making money

I can't bet on the kindness of prospective spouse. Hell, people do the most whenever they're angry, even if they're generous and kind. I'm too proud to be under the mercy of a man's benevolence
