Illness. People don't really know how fortunate they are when they are healthy, like being whole. You don't know how fortunate you are to hold your phone and be reading this I was at a hospital today, to visit a woman. She had fibroid and was operated upon. Unfortunately, she started bleeding so she needs pints of blood to replenish those that were lost. A beautiful woman, she's probably a mother. All these women who would probably intimidate you with poshness if you see them on the road. She was complaining, of excruciating pain. She was seated when I arrived. She said to help her lie down on a bed she was seating. She couldn't do it alone, couldn't move her leg. Her stomach was somewhat protruded a bit, she kept complaining of stomach pain. She didn't even care her wrapper was practically falling off. She was looking for blood, still looking for blood. She had been bleeding since October after her operation. Something probably went wrong. She had already go

Film Review - Lion Heart (Obi-Agụ)

In a normal NIGERIA movie, Nkem Owoh would have gone back to his brother's office to out nsi For him so that he wouldn't recover. The soundtrack to that would have been ridiculous "tu, tu nu nu" (you know the rest) The poison would have shot straight to his heart while he was in bed rest Onyeka Onwenu would have come out screaming "MY HUSBAND, MY HUSBAND" while cradling him without any effort to deal with it till he dies Nkem Owoh the Supposed culprit would also be out shedding tears, saying that His Brother, ODOGWU had left the world to soon He would have taken over the company completely and dragged it to the mud. Maybe be would have been in cohorts with Kanayo O Kanayo Kanayo O Kanayo, would have been summoned to occult with red and black clothing calling "LIONHEART MOTORS* to face the bankruptcy I can't believe our movies depict that rubbish. We never see movies of shrewd business men like Kanayo who are ruthless and aren't cultists ti

I read a post on Facebook where the poster was urging that people should vote for black books to be turned to novels (Now I'm not talking about thrashy Nani Boi and his brethren). The poster made a statement that struck me, "That whites can never run short of movies to act as long as they have authors". She couldn't have said any more truth than this. Recently, I've started enjoying crime and prosecution books notably Josh Grisham's works which are very interesting. Sometimes when I read his works, I wish I was studying law but change my mind almost immediately cos our Nigeria hasn't reached the stage of the flawless investigation in 1st World countries. Other times, I wash my hands off law cos it's too risky (if I go by the books). Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is that Josh Grisham is a lawyer-turned-author who 8 of his 42 works have been turned to movies and all his works are bestsellers. Of course, there are many other authors out the

LIONHEART

Genevieve Mama be doing Nigeria Proud. Lionheart is what I call a movie not the nonsensical trash that we always see in the name of movies. The movie is Bae, I can't get over it. I shaa am still mid-way through the movie and surprise surprise, I haven't fast forwarded it at all. The setting, theme, language, acting. It just flows like what I film should be. The usual stereotypes in Nollywood wasn't there at all. There are scenes which can't help but make you laugh because of how reminiscing it is. I loved how they Incorporated Igbo in the film especially the usage of proverbs by Pete Edochie and Osofia. I loved the actors that were used, The depiction of Nigeria as it actually is. And the soundtracks, It was good not hearing horrid soundtracks we see in Naija movies (telling you the scene before you even proceed). The movie is a breath of fresh air to what we see in Nollywood. All these D-List producers and directors should go learn from her. Genevieve creates *Art*
