On Golden Kiss by Beguile by Ọma
It took 5 years but here we are.
5 years for Seduction to have not just a competition but get itself knocked out of my being my favourite perfume.
I got the new release by Beguile by Ọma, Golden Kiss. I wasn't really tempted to buy it first cos of the cost and I was looking at being financially prudent.
But luckily I got some monetary gifts during my birthday and having come out of a malaria ailment and getting a few client gigs, I figured I should splurge on something.
And the only thing I really had interest in getting is it. It's currently my most perfume spend yet but totally worth it.
How do I describe the scent profile?
Literally, it's a sweet floral scent. But to evoke the emotions, it smells luxurious. Like you see those old money aesthetics and being put together. Like someone aptly described it, "it smells like the woman I want to be." That's the vibe it gives.
The notes are giving vintage perfume vibes but not in that granny (coughs in Coco Channel Mademoiselle).
You smell it and you think vacationing in Dubai, on a yacht at Monaco, at an Opera in Italy, Sipping Bordeaux in France, relaxing at the beach in Mauritius, visiting the Louvre in France, etc, etc...
You get the drift. The feeling it gives you is expensive, alluring, femininity and luxurious.
When Ihuoma had said on her YouTube that it's her best perfume made yet, I just knew I had to get it. I just needed to have it in my collection.
See, I had quit a job in January cos realistically I ain't gonna afford a Beguile by Oma perfume (and other pertinent expenses) if I continued working there. That's how loyal I am to this brand.
I said I'll keep purchasing all their releases if I can help it. Unfortunately Nigeria is kicking my ass so I can't help it with all of the releases.
Like this is a brand I got introduced to when the perfumes were 15k naira. So the plan was to grow with the brand and I can't be stagnant while they're growing. It just doesn't make sense.
So here is to taking risks and going for what we want.
And while I haven't gotten exactly the stable role I got, I'm doing better than I was in January. So here is to continuing in that direction.
