On reading and Imagination

Now this is the weird thing I never realised till now, I don't really conjure scenes when I read.

Like when I saw the Maze runner movie, Harry Potter, Shadowhunters, Twilight for the first time, I just went in for the story. The setting being in line with the books is the least part of what I consider.

I was hyper focused on the words and storyline. The imagination part of indulging in books isn't for me.

I will always choose the authors writing style first and foremost before the plot.

That's why I really didn't enjoy that "Broken, a halal love story." I didn't like the authors writing style. It wasn't flowing for me (or maybe I'm excessively nickpicky).

The lead character is great, but the author's writing style is too descriptive to the point of ridiculousness, I think she was trying too hard so reading that didn't quite feel natural for me.

While reading, I always check new words that I don't understand from the context. I need the flow of words to be very smooth. Always always about the words.
