You are a hater

Notes from April 10, 2021


 "No, you're not being a critic. You're just a hater... filled with bitterness and have no sense of purpose."


2017-2019... I was a hater. Of Cardi B. I had a pure white or black approach towards her. It's either I choose her or Nicki Minaj. I was following pop-culture back-to-back and riding on its high. Not anymore. 


Why this sudden somber reflection? 2 days ago, Nicki and Cardi were trending again on Twitter. And the hate was spitting in both directions. I was as apathetic to it as I would "clubbing and hang-outs."


Then just today, I browsed Beyonce on Facebook and these plebians were spewing hate on someone who is a hardworker and remains relevant in the music space for over 20 years.


And I noticed a pattern. It's only bitterness and lack of purpose induce those behaviours. When you have nothing going on in your life, nothing that gives you life, that's why you're living vicariously through hating and spewing dust on another. It's such a sad view on life...

Notions (Wi-Fi)

We don't know what we have until we lose it. I had written something down on this particular issue, and that had been a depressing stuff. However, the one I'm emphasising on today is actually more stupid than sad, although I'm very sad about it. From my first year, I had prided myself in it having subscribed a monthly data plan by myself while school is in session. It's not difficult to guess the reason for my boasting, WI-FI, my very own "Lionet WiFi". Then, YouTube and Instagram was my second home. I dallied a bit on WhatsApp and Facebook, but my base was YouTube. I knew the latest songs that were released, the trending ones and the views each was getting. It went as far as checking the comments in each video. This girl didn't know that my WiFi will be stripped from me without warning. Took so long

 It took me a while to come to this realisation I can criticise orthodox Christianity while enjoying gospel music. I can decide not to be religious, but groove to music You know why? Because music is transcendental. Same way you enjoy secular music as a Christian.
