Screenwriting Excerpt 7

Rape is a despicable act which shamefully is still very much on the increase. And although we've had a lot of outrage, rapists still remain at large. However, as much as the anger on rape thrives on, it doesn't imply that people should false fully accuse another of rape. You are only wronging innocent people. There has been a lot of back and forth going with Izuu in these past week. A new evidence has sprung on the tweets actually being a trigger for his demise - sadly. Rape accusation is as much evil as rape itself. You are Branding another a criminal of such evil act. I do believe there should be penalty for rape accusers too, tbvh. This scene/excerpt is inspired by the recent happening with Izu. May his soul rest in Peace!

Notions (BBN)

I used to critical of BBN (I still am, to an extent) but let's face it, which other incentive in this whole country makes people celebrity over the course of few weeks? See Laycon for instance, who knew about his madtt rap skills prior to BBN? And whether or not he wins - he is getting signed into a label. Even if he doesn't, he will always have fans. He won't ever be relatively unknown again, dazzol. Which other initiative gives a prize worth 85 million?  It's not Big Brother that's the problem of Nigeria, it's just that there aren't enough programs with an enticing reward as the show.  None! And it's not about the morality of the show. People will always tune in when there is a nice catch. Take "Who Wants to be A Millionaire" for instance. Were tons of people not watching it then? Wasn't it educative? Wasn't the catch prize also good enough? And weren't people expectant of the next episode every week? Let's pretend that we onl

False Accusation: A Crime Against Humanity and God

I have been seeing post by some guys concerning the Izuu guy that killed himself because a girl accused him of rape. *"Nothing can ever make me commit suicide"* I can never kill myself and many other silly comments. Pray it doesn't come to you My first term in secondary school, I had this friend of mine - Bodwin. Our little stature made us become best of friends from the first day we saw each other. He was Van Diesel and I, Paul Walker. We did everything together, went to school, went to Church, got bullied together, smoked pawpaw leaf together and even bathed together. We were always careless and kept losing our stuffs from toothbrushes, toothpaste, singlets, towels etc. One day, Bodwin lost his white towel for the third time that term and his Mom was going to deal with him when she visits. So he brought this proposition and requested that when his Mom asks, that I should accept I was the one that TOOK the towel. I had seen his Mom shout at him and didn't want a repe

Phewwww! I tried to incorporate, broken relationships, domestic abuse, the ineptitude of the police system, the constant drumming of forgiveness, stalking in these few scenes. There's need to explore these themes in the industry: tell those damn stories. May we never experience this in our entire life. I wouldn't wish this paranoia on anyone though. Stay safe people, there are psychopaths roaming about everywhere. Enjoy!

I was in a little entanglement with my laptop for awhile now. 😂😂😂 I'm sorry, I couldn't resist not to use the term. Not in my caption and Also, not in the scene, lol. Anyways, this scene is inspired by girls who want guys to go straight to the point but when they are hit by the truth, they all but get antagonistic towards the guy. A lot of girls are on this table and it's remaining only one leg for it to be completely shattered  On that note, picture and enjoy this scene. And try not to get into an entanglement especially in this COVID period. Love and light, lol. #scriptwriting #screenwriting #writing #filmmaking #writersofinstagram #screenwriter #screenplay #Nollywood #NeoNollywood #NollywoodScripts #WillSmith #JadaSmith #RedTable #Nollywoodfilmmakers #writinglife #writingcommunity

Notions (Christianity is a Joke)

N.B: This should have been posted on Sunday though. I almost gorged my eyes out in today's service. Today's my first visit to our Anglican parish since ending of 2018. Coincidentally, today is Synod so the priest wasn't even around. A guest speaker was introduced with Evang., Apostle, Pastor, Dr. bla bla bla. One would have thought he had content with the way he was introduced. We were in for a rude awakening. The sermon was worse off than even the preaching I did while I was in secondary school. I kept rolling my eyes that it felt loosened from my sockets. I was desperately praying for the service to end cos my eyelids were drooping. I continued slipping in and out of consciousness in the church. I was hearing bits and pieces though. He proclaimed one that I couldn't hold the "Hei" that escaped my lips.  Yeah, it was that bad. Of course, he ended with donation. More of a token for prayers or something. Started with 3k. People weren't exactly cooperating s

What is the difference between TV series and Movies

Image
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TV SERIES AND A MOVIE. I figured I’d share a bit of something with this post. Something the average Nigerian probably doesn't know about films. A TV series is divided into episodes and seasons. It is what Nigerians usually call ‘Seasonal movie’ but that is not the right term. They are TV series because of the allotted times they are aired on channels on screen, it has a definite running time.  Whereas a movie, also called a Feature movie is a one-off movie, running from an hour to about 3 hours. The movies could have follow-ups, like other “parts” with the same characters. There are short movies though (but that's not the focus of this post) To be more specific, a TV series would be something like “Game of Thrones” (had to use that since it is so popular). However, a feature film will be the usual movies we have here in Naija, aired on Africa Magic.  But these distributors can be something else, you will see a feature film right here
