On Caroline Girvan's Iron Series
I just completed the Caroline Girvan's 6 weeks Iron series. It was an incredible experience, dedicating 5 days a week to train my body. I do appreciate her for such a structured workout. And I love the format:
Day 1: Lower body
Day 2: Upper body
Day 3: Glutes
Day 4: Full body
Day 5: Upper body or shoulders
I'm incredibly proud of keeping to this as well as the strength I've built during this process. So much so I upped my dumbbells to 6kg pair after the second week cos my current 3kg paid dumbbells were no longer challenging for lower body workouts.

If you had told me in January I'd be working out like this, I wouldn't believe you. I remember when I was looking at this picture from 2019 and I thought "I will do anything to go back to this weight including losing my programming skills and starting from scratch"
The way my brain snapped me back to reality eeh. Like forget programming, am I dumb? Girlll, I suffered to learn this programming. I had headaches for several days tryna understand logic. I cried, my goodness I cried for days. I was frustrated, bitter, and despondent. And that experience is what I thought to give up. Really. Especially when fitness is something you can build yourself .
Anyways, the first thing I did when I decided to take an active lifestyle seriously was uninstall Chowdeck app. Cos I was buying Amala, chicken republic and Cold stone ice-cream from there. Like I'm sure I've spent up to 100k ordering from that app.
The second thing I did was incorporating a calorie deficit. I was deceiving myself that I was doing intermittent fasting. But on top of the intermittent fasting, we were buying shawarma, parfait, pizza, burger, nkwobi and isi ewu every other day. We did 3 weeks very strict calorie deficit and I lost around 6kg. Gained back 3 kg during Christmas and new year. Then I decided I was going the route of slow but steady routine one. It took much longer and that's how I managed to get to my Goal weight.
Now, I'm incorporating strength as well as pilates and yoga for core strength and flexibility. I do feel proud of myself and certainly hope I continue onto this path.
Here is my current picture. I suppose I'm back to my 2019 size and I didn't lose my programming skill to get there 😃😃
Next plan: Do Caroline's 5 day HIIT series to challenge my cardiovascular health.
